Anointing oil · and
An anointing oil and a poem.
A May 1 offering of 9 bottles of Venusian power, built around a floral accord featuring some of the most luxurious essences. Flowers d’Andaman, hence the name a n d, consists of santalum album heartwood oil, camellia sinensis leaf extract, magnolia champaca flower extract, panax ginseng root extract fraction, frankincense, myrrh, and rose attar.
A smash of a blend sunk into luxurious camellia japonica seed oil, alongside with a dash of jojoba oil. All 100 percent natural.
The purpose of it: To shine and dance, play and dream, feel good and be joyous. In other words, attract the benevolent forces of the universe, our good earth that we often forget, with all people, animals, minerals, and flowers in it, some entirely natural in their manifestation and others forged in fire, like gold, money, diamonds, and the most precious elixirs.
Anoint your face with this oil and not only smell divine, but smell the divine, too. Your face will also love this blend for its additional health benefits.
The magic of it: Poetry by bibliomancy. Sonnets for each person getting an oil ripped from a book and shared according to the rules of chance and randomness. Why? Wait and see. Or read below about my dream of the Andaman Islands.
100 percent natural · composed and handmade in Denmark · 10 ml flacon face oil + a sonnet

Beauties and the beasts
Not that cliché, the beauty and the beast, but close. Since I was dreaming of the mysterious Andaman Islands, poetry, and the most magnificent words to go with the most magnificent flowers, I thought of bottling my magic alongside with words drawn at random, words filled with beauty… and danger, as good poetry comes with that.
But why beauty and danger? Well, if we talk about isolated places on earth where tribal culture rules uncontaminated by what’s happening in the rest of the world, we’re here with a notion of danger, in case we entertain the idea of playing tourists. For instance, while the Andaman Islands are a great tourist attraction, the government of India also says that you must never visit the place that is home to the Sentinelese tribe, the beautiful – and forbidden – North Sentinel Island in the Andamans, since you run the risk of being eaten by the locals. Imagine the feast… Taken straight out of the most daring travel novels…
Poetry is like that. beautiful and dangerous.
Now, as it happens, I use bibliomancy in my life almost daily, both as an act towards clarifying something on my mind, and also as an act towards experiencing the pleasure in knowing forbidden things. I often open poetry books at random, pick a poem and let it speak to me on all levels, from the sublime to the wicked, from the clever to passion. The latter often enhanced by the presence of glorious scents.
My May 1 offering comes in the form of perfumed words. When I shot the pictures for my anointing face oil, I read Wordsworth’s last line in his sonnet, ‘could to my sight that heavenly face restore…’ Well, let us be surprised by joy, especially if sorrow has been a companion.
Each of my nine bottles of Flowers d’Andaman will be accompanied by a sonnet ripped out of my book at random. The idea is to think of something, put the oil on your face, and take a deep breath. Hold it there for a second, your olfactory experience. This is not an oil to attract the attention of just about anybody. This is an oil to attract your nose, your senses of your own presence.
Once you can smell yourself, read the poem. Read it as an answer to what is on your mind. When you’re done, open the bottle and just sniff its content. Don’t use more of it. Just hold the fragrance in your mind, and see yourself ready to receive some needed abundance. Remember that this oil is a talismanic oil, made in accordance with magical principles. The poem is an oracle, too.
Thus, as a magical act, anoint yourself with scents and words, let the summer speak, and let some good stuff come to you.

See a short film that features the blending of the exquisite essences together with the lush camellia oil. Part of me loves the idea of the camellia oil carrying great natural power.
I like it that I share my name with the sublime flower, and although I don’t consider myself a herbalist, I like it that there’s a bridge between me and the world alchemy through fragrance and the nom propre. This particular blend of name, flower, and fancy makes my effort to create something special worth the while.
HOW TO USE IT
First cleanse your face. If the pores are open, all the better. For maximum effect, sit with a wet hot cloth over your face for a few minutes, in order to prepare the face for the oil. That’s the most efficient, especially if you want to use the oil during the day, and not after a bath or a regular wash.
Add a few drops to your palms. Bring your hands to your nose and take a deep breath. Then spread the oil on your face. You can also use the oil for your hair.
The oil suits both men and women. Although intended as a face oil, it can also function as a perfume oil. Note, however, that as a perfume, it is not as intense as the oil that’s crafted exclusively for fragrance.

What they say
‘I dreamed of red roses all night so wasn’t surprised when a.n.d arrived this morning. The oil is light and heavenly and now I’m sitting with the sonnet aptly titled Dreamers.’ – Yolanda McAdams

‘I received your most excellent oil/ fragrance on Friday. That night we went out for a friends birthday I was a little anxious like I always am before getting to the restaurant, silly I know, but. I followed your instructions (I never wear makeup), patted my face with a warm cloth, I then put a few drops of your fragrance in my palm breathing in its glorious scent and then applied it to my face. Right away all my fears dissipated. I read the script and then went off and had a fabulous time completely fearless. Thanxxxxxxxx I love your work.’ – Julia Chapple
ABOUT AGGER SENSES
We use knowledge to remedy our human condition. But we can’t remedy the odours that enter our noses. I’m interested in that. In addition to weaving words, I blend perfume oils. Old Testament style. The Song of Songs style. Nothing more, nothing less.
While I fling my books to the larger public, I reserve my alchemy for the noses who already know what the world of desire is really about.
Under the signature, AGGER SENSES, I create limited edition fragrances. Agger is a magical place in Denmark at the edge of everything. In this liminal space I encounter the purity of elements, with the Zephyr, the west wind, leading the way. The sea is only 200 meters away from my house. I hear its waves and smell the salt. The lyme grass and its roots is my local ‘vetiver,’ the strong ingredient in perfumery. The buckthorn is my ‘frankincense.’ The wild rosa rugosa is my precious ‘rosa damascena.’
The whole place oozes with secrecy, the kind that we encounter in old perfumery books, the books we read for the type of knowledge the Greeks call metis, the knowledge derived from keen observation, acquired skill, subtle wit, and quick judgment. I invite you to experience my ‘reading’ of plant matter and precious elixirs in the form of a blend of talismanic proportion, a magical artefact that does more than correct a corrupt nose.
In this kind of work I collaborate only with leading professionals who can guarantee the quality of their distilled oils, concretes and absolutes, such as Esensera in Denmark, Hermitage Oils in Italy, Enfleurage in New York, alongside with a small number of ethnobotanist nerds and distillation fanatics.
I like to think of the stuff I pour into my scent creations as the ‘stuff of the gods,’ as only the best will do. This means investing a considerable amount of money in the basic and precious ingredients, which also means, invariably, that what I make can only qualify as exclusive, insofar as it is both scarce and occupies the high end spot on the spectrum of things of value.
